Founded in 1982, the Gaelic pre-school council - CNSA - establishes, provides and supports a wide variety of Gaelic-medium pre-school education facilities, including full training programmes for pre-school group and field staff, and enabling facilities such as resource centres and toy libraries. CNSA's groups are open to all pre-school children, whether they are able to speak Gaelic on entry or not, and provide a full range of appropriate and attractive developmental activities, including second language introduction through the immersion method for those children for whom Gaelic is a new experience. CNSA also takes on board related needs of parents.
