An integral part of the Church of Scotland, the guild exists to invite and encourage all women to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and to enable them to express their faith in worship, prayer and action. This aim is carried out in various ways through local congregational groups, the wider work of the Church through support for a range of projects, co-operation with other churches and in bodies like the women's national commission, offering opportunities for a Christian perspective and influence on current issues affecting women. Training programmes are run to develop women's gifts and equip them for these responsibilities.
