The National is the UK's foremost centre for the very best of world drama. Celebrating in 1997 its 21st anniversary on the south bank, it stages a varied repertory of over 20 new productions a year in its three theatres to an aggregate audience of over 600,000. The National's educational department works with youngsters and others to maximise aess to the theatre, and its productions tour extensively, in the UK and internationally. The National Theatre Studio nurtures writers, actors and directors to develop their creativity.
