A helping hand. SSAFA forces help assists service families everywhere. SSAFA forces help remains one of the most highly respected service-related charities. Its roots trace back to 1885. SSAFA forces help assists any man or woman who has served in the armed forces, and most importantly, their families and dependants. Its help spans all ages: most senior cases are in their 90's, the youngest under a year. SSAFA forces help may, for example, help a world war veteran or his widow, it might advise a recent ex-service man who believes he may be suffering from gulf-related illness; it may help a service family with a disabled child.
