Indoor riding centres for children with special needs and disabilities are based at the riding centre, Leeds, Sutton Park, Birmingham, and the Slade Centre, Sidmouth. Children visit each week from schools and hospitals in the areas to benefit from the therapy of riding. Donkeys are used for this purpose because of their gentle, patient natures.
