Deafness creates communication barriers, at home, school, socially and particularly in gaining employment. The result is that deaf young people are totally excluded. What makes FYD's work special and differentiates it from other organisations is that its training brings together deaf young people with hearing people in a special partnership. FYD offers opportunities to: develop personally, gain in confidence, self esteem and independence, to be included and have equal opportunities, to be part of their communities and society. All activities involve participation with integrated groups of deaf and hearing young people.
